Sequences Design for OFDM and CDMA Systems

چکیده
With the emergence of multi-carrier (MC) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme in the current WLAN standards and next generation wireless broadband standards, the necessitation to acquire a method for combating high peak to average power ratio (PMEPR) becomes imminent. In this thesis, we will explore various sequences to determine their PMEPR behaviours, in hopes to find some sequences which could potentially be suitable for PMEPR reduction control under MC system settings. These sequences include m sequences, Sidelnikov sequences, new sequences, Golay sequences, FZC sequences and Legendre sequences. We will also examine the merit factor properties of these sequences, and then we will derive a bound between PMEPR and merit factor. Moreover, in the design of code division multiple access (CDMA) spreading sequence sets, it is critical that each sequence in the set has low autocorrelations and low crosscorrelation with other sequences in the same set. In the thesis, we will present a class of GDJ Golay sequences which contains a large zero autocorrelation zone (ZACZ), which could satisfy the low autocorrelation requirement. This class of Golay sequences could potentially be used to construct new CDMA spreading sequence sets.

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems
Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

We study the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) problem for two di erent kinds of communications systems, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Multi-Code Code-Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA). We describe a common coding theoretic approach to reducing the PAPR of both kinds of transmissions. In both cases, the classical Reed-Muller codes turn out to play a critical role. Ther...

متن کاملChallenge of Channel Estimations and Its Way Out in MIMO OFDM Systems for Mobile Wireless Channels
In current common channel estimation schemes for MIMO OFDM systems, channel state information is usually achieved by estimating channels according to frequency domain pilot sequences. However, when the length of MIMO OFDM symbols is larger than that of wireless channel delay, there are two intractable issues in the case of cellular fast fading channel scenarios with large numbers of users, i.e....
